He personally led the development and awareness of sports nutrition in the UK as the Founder of Maximuscle focusing on the application of good sports nutrition, and in helping people transform their physique and increase their sporting performance. He is the author of several best selling books on the subject of training, performance nutrition, bodybuilding and owns leading websites on these topics. Since Maximuscle Ltd was founded by Zef in 1995, it has grown organically without any outside investors or bank debt to become Britain’s no.1 brand in just 6 years, with a 21% net profit growth each year. In 2004, Piper Private Equity took a stake for £9.6m, where growth continued with net profits up 53% each year. In Dec 2007, Zef sold a majority share to Darwin Private Equity for £75m, with Zef now sitting as board member and President.
