Sturgeon Ventures LLP was founded in 1998 as a single family office, which invested in public stock markets around the world as well as private companies. The Partners, love of being involved in the growth and nurturing of private companies, led to the creation of the Incubator. Initially there was no sector focus, incubation was across all sectors, in 2003 a sector specialisation began in financial services and wellness.

Sturgeon Ventures
LLP – Corporate Finance team specializes in putting start-up
and expansion phase businesses that require capital in touch with those in a position
to supply it, we do not provide it ourselves. We also act as a management
consultant, throughout the life of a small-mid capitalized firm.
And our success is such
that we now enjoy a burgeoning reputation as a leading UK Venture
Catalyst.
Seonaid Mackenzie
hatched and has nurtured Sturgeon Ventures since 1998, whilst at concurrently
incubating FSA regulated people and firms, typically other corporate
finance advisory firms, third party fund raisers for hedge funds and
investment management firms in the UK, before receiving their own
regulated status with the FSA {references from past and current incubatee
firms on request}. The Partnership also hatched a Wellness Company.
With over fifteen years
experience in the US public equity markets, Seonaid felt how the entrepreneurial
spirit encouraged in the United States was less enthusiastically received
in Britain and Europe, and set out to actively contribute to changing
this.
